*Stretch and yawn,* Demeter grumbles. "I hate not being able to sleep....At least the moon is bright tonight," she says as she's walking through the meadow looking at the sky. "The flowers smell so good in the moonlight. Perhaps I'll pick a few to take back home. I can put them beside my bed. I bet the smell will help me sleep." It's been difficult for her to sleep lately. "I sure do miss this meadow, I remember sleeping here as a kitten...." Demeter has a flash back of being a young, vibrant, playful kitten. "I use to run through these meadows until I just fell over in exhaustion." She sighs from the memory. Things just haven't been the same recently. She hopes things will return to normal before anyone begins to notice her withdrawn behavior. Bending down to retrieve a few flowers as she walks, she comes across a majestic looking flower; with pedals like a lily, their color a beautiful pale violet hue. She fetches it and a few others....She begins to wonder, "Is there something wrong with me? This behavior just isn't like me... Maybe it's just the lack of sleep." She continues to walk through the meadow. Sensing a shift in the air, the temperature begins to drop a little. A shiver runs through her sleek coat. Deciding she had picked enough flowers she began to head home. Taking a final look back into the meadow, she see's a figure standing amongst the flowers near the forest entrance.... "I wonder who that could be?" she says quietly.......

Kitterina, flat on her back beneath a canopy of shadows, speckled with the lights of far off places, ssstreeetched her arms above her head, and reached her toes out as far as they could go before flopping limp in relaxation.
"Aaaaaahhh... moonlight, moonlight, glistening dew. All of the beauty, here it rests in you. Twinkling starlight, peering through the trees, light my paw-steps, blind away the fleeeeas."
Scratch-scratch-scratch. Ear flick. Blink.
Kitterina's eyes glittered as she peered into the tiny twinkles beneath (or is it above?) the leaves. Sprawled out on the musty and damp forest floor, she could hear everything that nestled into the low places. Crickets chirping. Spiders tapping their tiny legs around. The occasional bat-swoopy-squeak. And-- footsteps?
She twitched into position. Upright, ears perked, eyes wide. Static.
Footsteps.
Moving closer.
She bolted. Lowered her body. Raised up her head. Slowly. Just to the top of the grasses. Being this close to the forest's edge was still new to her. This was the meadow. Untouched territory to her. Adventure. Her tail twitched with excitement.
She had spotted a female. Similar to her. Clearly feline.
Twitch twitch twitch. The excitement grew.
A real live feline. Just like her.
Twitch.
They'd be the best of friends. She was sure of it.
A squirrel giggled in the background.
She made a huffy pout over her shoulder at its snide remark and kept looking.
Flowers. She's picking flowers.
The air surrounding Kitterina began to glow blue. Her heart was beating hard with excitement as she slowly crawled closer along. The grass started parting in front of her, as if combed to the sides.
Moving past flower after flower, she slowly, deliberately, raised herself to standing, with as much surety as she could muster, smiling the smile of a lifetime as the first other cat she had ever lain eyes on clearly looked right where she stood.
She inhaled deeply, her grin somehow widening beyond capacity, as her paws start to lift off the--
"OOPF!"
Face in the dirt, flat as a plank, she holds stiff as a board.
...Really? Siiigh.
Her ears lower in mild humiliation. The color surrounding her fades. She slowly sits up, her head lowered. A paw, slightly raised overhead to hide her embarrassment, lowers. She raises her head to Demeter, and looks at her, forcing the most awkward and self-conscious laugh.

"Oh dear!" Demeter jumps back frightened by the cat, causing her to drop all her flowers. "Oh no! My flowers." Demeter's brow furrows. Attempting to keep herself from feeling sad at the loss of her beautiful flowers, she looks down at Kitterina.
"Another cat out at this hour of night? How odd. She's a bit strange too. I've never seen anyone quite like her before. What was that odd color that surrounded her? So strange...so strange." Demeter struggles with what to say to this new cat. She's always strived to be one of the nicest cats in the tribe... but she's always been so cautious since the incident took place.
"Hello there child. What on earth are you doing lying on the ground?" Demeter shakes her head and offers her paw to the strange new cat laid out before her.
She's so different from the other's in the tribe.
Demeter began to wonder if this new cat was dangerous. She could be associated with him.The fur on her neck begins to stand on it's own.
Cautious, I must be cautious...so cautious. Never again, I will never go back there again. No, never.
Demeter prepares to run should danger begin to arise.
